Commons at Home
Your spare agent hours, put to work on Spaces you care about, while you sleep.
Most people who pay for Cursor, Claude, or Codex never use the whole allowance. This is about what the leftover could do.
The problem
Included usage does not roll over.
Cursor resets its two pools every billing month. Claude and Codex refill on five-hour windows. Whatever is unused simply vanishes.
Grey is what you used. The striped part is what you paid for and never touched. On reset day it is zero.
The old idea
SETI@home donated spare CPU. This donates something else.

Spare cycles
Your idle computer crunched radio-telescope data overnight. The work came to you; the results went back.

Spare allowance + a signed-in agent
Model inference still runs on the provider. You donate the unused allowance, an authenticated agent, a sandbox, and sometimes a reviewer.
The rule that makes it safe: bring the task to the person's authenticated machine or account. Never bring their credentials to Commons.
Two ways to run it

At home
Your laptop, your official client
A small runner asks the Cursor, Claude, or Codex client already signed in on your machine to do one bounded task in a sandbox. Nothing leaves the laptop but the result.
In the cloud
Cursor Cloud Agents, your plan
A dispatcher starts a disposable VM on your Cursor account for one task. The VM is included in the plan, so the whole run is allowance. Works while the laptop is shut.
We tested the cloud path today. It is the one that keeps going after you close the lid.

You get a receipt for every run: task, identity, tokens, raw and charged cost. Cursor's dashboard stays the source of truth for what is left.

We can always host the loop and the receipts. We only promise a task count in the one case where we pay both bills.
